PaperTrey September Blog Hop Challenge

I owe all of the skills I have as a stamper to my friend Claudia.  I took a Domino Class from Claudia in 2004.  Since then I have been a member of her Stampin' Up Club and we have become good friends.  She is my one friend that is as avid (or maybe the word is rabid) about stamping as I am.  If I hadn't met her, I don't think I would have continued stamping.  That might not have been a bad thing since I only had a few hundred dollars invested in this hobby at that time and now it is thousands.  LOL  Claudia taught us techniques for a couple of years at stamp club.  One of the techniques that we learned was masking and that is what I used on my card.  I used a sketch from the Clean&Simple blog.

I used all four of the leaf dies to cut masks from post-it notes. I always make sure that the die cuts through some of the sticky on the post-it note. That way it will stick without added adhesive. I stamped the red leaf first and then covered it with its corresponding post-it. I then stamped the yellow leaf and covered it with its post-it. I did the same with the rust colored leaf.  My final two leaves were the pumpkin leaves. I didn't need the mask for those. You then remove the masks. I love the surprise of removing the masks and seeing what you have created. Thanks for looking and a big thanks to Claudia for all of my stamping skills.

The Clean and Simple Challenge this week at SCS was an inspiration challenge.  The inspiration was a Birthday Wreath.  Here is a link to the wreath.  http://www.howdoesshe.com/birthday-wreath  I chose to use the colors of the wreath for my cards.

The first card uses a SU set called Pick a Petal.  The second card uses a Papertrey Ink set called Just the Ticket.  I plan on sending these to my niece and nephew.

Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

This is my first PTI Blog Hop.  The challenge was to use brown paper bags for our projects.  I took the simple route and used dies and  Beautiful Blooms II  to make my card.  I cut out 8 flowers from each of the 3 dies from a brown lunch sack.  I cut strips from the lunch sack and ran them through my Big Shot with all 3 dies, getting 2 flower of each size with each pass.   I then stamped the corresponding image on each die-cut flower.  I glued them together and sewed on a button to create my finished flower.

Here is a close-up of my lunch bag flower.  TFL

Supplies:
Stamps:  PTI Beautiful Blooms and Birthday Bash Sentiments, Hero Arts Background
Ink:  PTI Hawaiian Shores, Palette Noir Black, SU Sahara Sand
Paper:  PTI White

I love the Fall to Layouts from the Clean and Simple blog.  They are so easy to work with.  I used Dot Spot from PaperTrey Ink on both cards. I just changed the colors and sentiments.  Dot Spot is a set that I fell in love with and then had trouble using.  I do like the results that I got using this layout.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  PTI Dot Spot and Sentiments from Big & Bold Wishes and Signature Greetings
Paper:  PTI White and Summer Sunrise, SU Cool Caribbean
Ink:  PTI Summer Sunrise, SU Cool Caribbean and Black
Accessories:  Rhinestones colored with Copics, PTI Border Dies, Dimensionals

I have decided to enter the blog world.  Since I am not sure what I am doing, this is a test.
